Introducing Private VPN Capabilities

Introducing Private VPN Capabilities

Securely connect GitStart to your infrastructure with our new Private VPN Capabilities
October 18
2024

We’re excited to announce a significant new feature: Private VPN Capabilities. Designed with the security needs of developers and our clients in mind, this new functionality allows you to give GitStart secure access to your infrastructure (e.g., development environments, ticketing systems, and git forges) behind VPNs.

How It Works

We use WireGuard for all our services and developers. By connecting our VPN to yours, we offer full ACL-based controls that ensure secure, compliant interactions between our systems.

While implementing this, we tried to be mindful of geo-location considerations due to the geographical distribution of our developers and have strategically chosen our VPN exit nodes to minimize any potential impact.

What You Need to Do

If you’re interested in leveraging this feature, please reach out to our team, who will guide you through the setup process and provide you with the necessary information to get started.

You can configure the Private VPN connection in one of the following ways:

  1. Whitelist our External Gateway IPs: Add our provided gateway IPs to your whitelist;
  2. Share VPN Profiles: Provide us with your VPN profiles, enabling seamless integration.

The integration happens transparently at the networking layer, ensuring that your overall experience with GitStart remains unchanged.

To learn more about this feature, please reach out to our team during onboarding or at any time during your engagement with us.
